Yes. You can play the official browser game for free, without an account or installation.

Can I play with friends?
Yes. Create or join an online room, choose co-op or versus, and ready up. At least two connected human players are required to start an online match. Optional room passwords let you restrict a room to friends.
How many players can join?
Small maps support up to four commanders, medium maps up to eight, and large maps up to sixteen. Human slots cannot exceed the total commander count; AI fills the remaining positions. Very large battles can be demanding on devices and hosting.
Can I play alone?
Yes. Solo skirmishes, three campaign openings and the Hold the Gate fortress mode are available.
Was this game called Breakaway?
Yes. Unlikely Empires is the new name of the game previously called Breakaway: Worlds Collide.
Does it work on phones?
The game includes touch controls and a compact responsive dock. A larger screen is helpful for commanding armies and managing cities.
How was the game made?
Eric directs the game design and development with AI assistance. The project includes AI-generated artwork and media, alongside licensed music with credits available in the game.
