Eric Gonzalez Payne created Unlikely Empires as a personal hobby project: a free strategy game about improbable civilizations, competing armies and the politics of keeping a country together.
Eric directs the design and ongoing development with AI assistance. His goal is simple: make something enjoyable, keep improving it, and let other people play.
The project includes AI-generated artwork and media. Licensed soundtrack credits are available in the game. The promotional illustration in the share kit is generated artwork, not a gameplay screenshot.
